The "temporary" or old parliament house is a very worthwhile visit. Parliamentary archives and the building are all interesting. Guides are helpful and entry is cheap. Usually parking outside.

Beautiful old building displaying both Australia's good and bad history. Staff were friendly and happy to help. Also a good display of the comical side of politics. Well worth the visit.

Really interesting place. You can learn a lot about the democracy process during the history, And its cost only 2$ to get in (5$ for families). If you want the full educational experience, you should combine it with the current parliament house public tour (which is free).
